Ships Ahoy: Secret Wars

December 1st, 2009
Secret Wars box set

Those who are eagerly anticipating the arrival of your Symbiote Bond Spider-Man (plus those three other no-names) may be thrilled to know that the Secret Wars box set is starting to pop up on store shelves. And apparently in decent quantities too. Multiverse member Night Viper reported the first sighting (along with a ridiculous typo in the pricing computer).

So, for those who have worked out the time frame between first sightings and when new products start to show up in your region, get to work on crunching the numbers. Those who put in preorders on the Toys R Us website, you still have some waiting to do, as there have been several reports that these are still maintaining a “backorder” status. Makes you wonder what the point of preordering was, doesn’t it?

    No-names? Them’s fightin’words! :-P

    Thanks for the update!

I just picked this up at my local TRU yesterday. Two things:
1: When I was checking out, the box set rang up at $167.99
2: My Beyonder has two left legs. I’m not entirely sure how that happens… His ‘right’ leg bends forward at the knee, but his foot was still facing forward when I got it. Luckily, he still manages to stand up when the leg is straight, so I don’t have to go back to TRU for a while… :P

I picked these up from my TRU last Wednesday. I also encountered the issue where it rang up for $168 (which I assume is a case price).

My TRU.com order was listed as “backordered” so I just had them cancel it. Lame.

My TRU still had 11 of them yesterday. Heh.

Didn’t find these yet, but I did find the SDCC Dark Avengers set, which was a nice surprise. It actually rang up at $240, which was the case price.
