On a regular basis, the gang over at Art Asylum compile questions from their fans and present them to DSTChuck in a segment they call Ask DST.

In the sixty second edition, the focus was on the various Star Trek products, though that didn’t stop a brief mention about Iron Man 2 Minimates.

Matt Stefiuk wrote in with the following:

Ok….so…I can’t even BEGIN to tell you just how excited I am that your company is producing “Iron Man 2″ action figures based off the forthcoming film. I loved Hasbro’s 6-inch figures and collected them all…I despise most 3 and 3/4 inch figures and much prefer 6 to 7-inch range figures in terms of size. Just..cooler, more fun to play with, easier to hold haha.

From there, his questions steered towards various Star Trek figures. And that doesn’t really have anything to do with Minimates either, so why am I even posting this, you might ask. Chuck’s response warrants the mention:

Hmm not sure if this is more a Marvel question or a Trek question. We will not be able to do all the characters from IM2, sorry but sadly the MS line comes out no more then one a month so we’d never be able to get all the figures done in a timely manner. While I see you prefer larger figures, the Minimates lineup for IM2 will be pretty comprehensive.

So, that stands as more confirmation that we’ll be seeing Iron Man 2 in 2-inch form, with a pretty complete assortment. Whether this means all the major players get a Minimate remains to be seen, but with a suspected Action Figure Xpress box set and the rumors about the 35th Marvel series being prepped for Iron Man 2, not to mention an inevitable Toys R Us tie-in, I’d be willing to bet we’ll see at least most of them.
