Is the 35th series of Marvel already confirmed? That’s what Superhero Hype would have us believe. RealIrOnMaN posted this little news snippet from SpiderMedia.ru (though I couldn’t find the original article):
The stars of the blockbuster Iron Man 2 have invaded the Minimates line and they’re going to blow you away! This assortment contains Iron Man & Whiplash, Iron Man & War Machine, the high-tech mystery army-builder & Pepper Potts plus the limited variant Happy Hogan! Each two-inch Minimate features 14 points of articulation plus removable and interchangeable parts!
The picture does look pretty official (and it features the spiffy shadows that some of DST’s other Iron Man 2 stuff has so as to avoid spoilers for the film), so its just a matter of confirming the line-up and the release date for these.
Edit: It seems Big Bad Toy Store has this one up for preorder, with the mystery army builder being a mystery still.

Mystery high tech army builder? Movie version shield agent, perhaps? You could theorize that Tony gave some of his tech to Samuel L. Jackson’s SHIELD organization.
Another theory: Perhaps the Black Widow stole Tony’s tech and gave it to the Russians. Crimson Dynamo soldiers?

Am I missing something? The guy in the suit looks more like Sam Rockwell’s Justin Hammer than Happy Hogan.
Also, I second the disappointment in no Black Widow. Oh well.

Crimson Dynamo soldiers or SHIELD mandroids would both be fine by me.
The figure between Happy and Pepper is probably Justin Hammer.
Iron Man’s armor looks great.
And I think we’ll see Black Widow in a TRU two pack or perhaps in another exclusive box set.

Yeah! Happy & Pepps are looking good–! And whiplash is looking absolutely amazing. But I have to say, I’m not too fond of how Iron Man is looking. I think his red should be darker. And his forehead looks a little too prominent, and his eyes a little too far apart. He is, though looking much better proportioned than the Mk III, MkII, and Stealth Armor looked for the first movie’s mates. And his body has one nice sculpt…
I agree with Feroz about Black Widow. She will probably be appearing at Toys “R” Us or as a box set…
