Final reveal, and it’s one that many fans wanted: Jean Grey!
That rounds up the series. While the assortment hasn’t been said, I suspect here’s how things breakdown:
Cyclops & Jean
Beast & Rogue
Hellfire Guard & Black Queen Jean
Hellfire Guard & Black Queen Selene (variant)
No word on a release date, but it’ll likely be late February/early March, somewhere around the time of Series 33′s release.

Well, I’m not OVERLY surprised since yesterday it looked like Cyclops had an empty pairing. (And I put 90′s Jean as the second most likely to be the last figure.) But I’m still scratching my head a little bit at the Black Queen/Selene figures. They don’t seem like they’d be in very high demand… And it really seems unlikely we’ll see a Jubilee anytime soon now. Unless they do some sort of “Lost X-Men” wave/box set with all the big ones that have been overlooked over the years (and conveniently have only one real signature look): Banshee, Dazzler, Longshot, Forge, Jubilee, Cannonball, and maybe regular and Age of Apocalypse versions of Sunfire for the variant. I think that would give us pretty much every member of the X-Men (minus retcons) through the late 90′s in minimate form. That sounds like a winner to me.

I’m glad JL Jean was included. No Wolvie makes me happy (we’re sick of him!)
. Even though we’ve seen a lot of these characters before, the Jim Lee era was a lot of fun and a great “jumping on point” for X-Men fans who haven’t been collecting minimates yet. Selene is doing a lot over in the Necrosha storyline right now, so she was a logical choice for the baddie. I’ll definitely pick this wave up. Good job! I always love X-Men waves.

While I could have lived without 90′s Jean (Jubilee would have been a more welcome addition to my collection) I am totally on board with the Black Queens – without getting too creepy, those are some uniquely SMOKIN’ minimates!
Come to think of it, I could have done without another Cyclops, Beast and Rogue as well.
But they are all VERY well executed, nonetheless.
Great Job, AA Gang!

Very happy about this series.
Like Tad said: great job AA!
I do hope they complete the Jim Lee lineup and that we see some more X-Men villains in the future, because they are way overdue.
November 12th, 2009 - 4:56 PM
We are not just overdue with X-villians, but villians in general.
But it seems that AA is always behind on the villians. How long was it before we got a Red Skull or comic Sabertooth.
Need a Sebastian Shaw for this to be complete.

Hair is Black Widow, not sure about face.
November 13th, 2009 - 2:13 AM
Face looks likes Gina Inviere from the BSG Razor boxset.

One more vote for the Hellfire Club Box Set!
November 13th, 2009 - 11:28 PM
drgn, hair is not Black Widow’s. Her’s has those eye-covering bangs. This looks to be an all-new piece.
And since Jean is the greatest comic character of all time and this is one of my most-requested costumes for her, i am speechless. Pure perfection.

@Twisted Two-Face
Looks like drgn was right about the hair piece.
It’s has the same asymmetry (compare the left part of the bangs with the right) and in this case it isn’t covering the eyebrows because Gina’s face is placed just a little lower than Natasha’s.

@Feroz
No he wasn’t. Natasha has 60s hair, with bangs:

They’re completely different.

Picture didn’t work, for some reason…oh well, linked to the Database anyway…
November 15th, 2009 - 4:45 AM
@Twisted Two-face
Natasha’s hair looks different in the Front and Back pictures, but have a look at the Left and Right pictures.
You should see the similarity between her hairpiece and the one used for the MJ custom.
If that doesn’t convince you, I’ll try to recreate the look for you with a picture of my own. I don’t have a Gina Inviere Minimate, but I’ll improvise.

@Feroz
Oh, well yea there’s similarity!! Drgn was saying that they were exactly the same piece, which they aren’t. THAT was the point i was making; they have similarities, but are not the same, because Natasha has her 60s bangs.

@Twisted Two-face
Ah, okay. Perhaps this was a prototype for Natasha or something we’ll see in the future.
