Fan Mail Friday: Q&A #4

November 6th, 2009

It’s Fan Mail Friday and we’re digging through the mailbag once again. Looks like another Q&A, based on this week’s submissions.

Kicking things off, we have one from JP. He writes:

Hey, I’ve locked myself out of the office. Can you let me in?

Okay.

Our next question comes from Tony, who writes:

First off I just want to say I love the site and keep up the good work. I recently bought the X-Force Wolverine and Vault Guard 2-pack at Toys R Us. I am a huge fan of X-Force and was wondering if you knew of any plans for a X-Force warpath, or X-23?

Thanks for writing, Tony. At present, X-23 in her X-Force duds is slated for release in Marvel series 32, which is due to hit shelves on December 30th. Unfortunately, the only Warpath on schedule is the Toys R Us exclusive one in his red and blue attire. It’s already on shelves in select markets and is limited to one set per case, so you’ll probably have a little trouble tracking him down. Good luck to you sir.

Next, Steve submits the following:

I saw a customizer that gave a minimate a mid-bicep joint. Do you know if DST has ever considered this? Do you think they should add it, or would it make older minimates not match the newer ones with the new joint?

Thanks for writing, Steve. I’ve seen the custom you’re referring to, though I can’t for the life of me remember who made it (any help from the readers?). Regarding changing the formula, I think DST is pretty set on the current design. While it would be cool to see some added articulation (our Minimates could finally clap!), I think you’d negate the 30+ series of Marvel, as well as the dozens of other series released from the other lines. It would also add to the production costs by breaking one small part into two even smaller parts. I think 14 points of articulation is probably enough for these small guys.

Hey, we’ve got another one from JP. He writes:

Hey, I’m locked out again. Let me in?

We’ll see you in seven.

I think I came up with the idea for the swivel-bicep (for Hawkeye), and I think Antacost was the first to implement it.

  2. JP

    Nevermind. I found my key…oops…what-a-minute…

That’s my key to the liquor cabinet.

I’m locked out again. Let me in again? I think my key is next to the rum.

JP that is lol. and in other news if you look, http://www.artasylum.com/blog/2009/11/your-minimates-series-34-reveal-begins-here/ you’ll see Jim lee cyclops!!! ftw
when I saw that I jump for joy. finally!

  4. Feroz Nazir

    Great find emotrainer!

I think/hope Jim Lee’s Jean Grey will be announced next.

  5. Agent Smith

Heck no. The rest of the 5 will all be Wolverine’s. Can’t have enough Wolverine’s in your collection. How many do we have already? I lost track. 37 so far? If he is in it this set, I’ll pass.

  6. Feroz Nazir

    You were close Agent Smith.
It’s the X-Men’s other hairy member: Hank McCoy!

I hope this means we’ll also get a Jubilee Minimate!

  7. Agent Smith

So far so good, no Wolverine. Beast is okay. I prefer the sculpt on the one from the Invasion box set though. This will be the third version of the Beast. Cyclops will be the sixth version I believe. Jubilee would be great – we don’t have her. How about some bad guys?
