Some time ago, it was teased that the sixth series of Toys R Us exclusive Marvel figures would feature the Secret Wars version of Storm. Beyond that, the assortment was a mystery. Until today.
Art Asylum has unveiled packaging shots of the upcoming Marvel series, and a few things are worth noting.
For starters, there’s only 4 pairings, instead of the usual 5. This is a curious turn of events, since one would think 5 different sets would sell better than only 4. But, this will be a blessing to fans looking to find them on shelves, since the math suggests that each pairing will come three to a case.
Second, three of the four sets are new. In the past, we’ve gotten two new sets with three retreads of previous or soon to be released pairings from the LCS series. This time, we get an early release for Thor Reborn & Lady Loki, with TRU exclusives Klaw & Secret Wars Storm and Stretch Attack Mr. Fantastic & World War Hulk, along with non-exclusive but still new Battle-Damaged Wolverine & Captain America.
So, this begs the question of whether or not this will be indicative of the next Marvel assortment set to hit comic shops. Toys R Us exclusives have developed a reputation for going along with other new releases, so will we see more from World War Hulk? The Fantastic Four? A Various Assortment of Damaged Wolverines? Only time will tell.
Toys R Us Marvel series 6 has no set release date, but will likely hit shelves in the coming month.

ok, damn, just damn awesome. Klaw, a new Mr. fantastic and the ol’ canucklehead w/ battle damage. not to mention the only set I was gonna get from the next wave. I hope the sets after this are just as awesome (with just as many villains!)

Huh, I wonder why they dropped to four sets. Perhaps direct market retailers were complaining that they were being stuck with sets that had been already sold at TRU?
Only real disappointment is Mr. Fantastic; new Fantastic Four is clearly needed, but not battle-damaged. Klaw makes me very happy, though.

Urf! So many minimates! It’s like a never ending torrent!
Klaw is infinite win for me (I wish we could see his weapon hand more clearly) and I’ll take all the Secret Wars characters I can get.
Battle damaged Wolvie is a plus (and a long time coming) but this also looks like they are FINALLY putting out what I think is going to be the perfect Captain America (cut out mask that goes all the way down with the shoulder straps and the more detailed paint apps).
Battle damaged Reed Richards is…meh (unless he’s got some wicked cool accessories) but I’m all for World War Hulk too.
Guess it’s back to hunting in TRU.

I’m guessing since the name is ‘stretch attack’ Reed’ll have some new parts to go along w/ him, plus if you look close at the pic you see a BIG thing of blue next to hulk

Perhaps the big blue thing is an extra torso that allows Reed to wrap himself around another Minimate like a python?
That would be awesome!

As long as I can find these in store I’ll be happy. I’m still missing Angel/Warpath because I refuse to pay 50 bucks on eBay for the set.

Yikes! Some winners there. I’m gonna hold off on the Thor/Lady Loki 2-pack cause i prefer to support little guys like my LCS and LukesToyStore, but i am gonna have to beg around to find someone to get the rest for me. The Cap/Logan pack is ok . . . but i am REALLY excited about Stretch Attack Reed. I’m sure he has a great accessory packed in that’ll make him worth the purchase. And Punk Storm & Klaw. Mega WOOT! Here’s hoping the do Klaws claw justice. Hope storm comes with a dagger too! Not sure how comic accurate that is – but i seem to remember her being drawn with a knife at times while in her leathers.

Klaw has been on my list as a villain I wanted from day one. We’ve been demanding AA make more villains and what do they do? Release them at TRU! I am one of those people that has a crappy TRU that may or may not get these in. I don’t even waste my time going there anymore. These better be offered on their website. In fact, If I don’t get a Klaw I will quit collecting.

Mr Fantastic and Klaw have the TRU exclusive stamp on them. Don’t expect them to be offered in any upcoming wave. Get them (if you can) while you can.
