The Age of Apocalypse set looks a lot better than what was on display in San Diego. Magneto and Cyclops both have a much more suitable hairpiece.

The New Mutants set looks a little underwhelming, though I suppose they do match their original look. I just hope it comes with some accessories or something.

New York Comic Con takes place on October 8th through the 10th at the Jacob K Javits Center.

• Cappy asked for the lastest Marvel Minimates to be available in his local Toys R Us, but apparently that is beyond even reality altering powers. He did get a few links to try on eBay though.
• Fujis asked for Minimates available to the whole world, but again, there’s only so much magic can do, so he had to settle for Canada.
• Aapje asked for an awesome cow in exchange for some beans he found.
• JP asked for a working liver.
• I asked for all these articles I had written up to be posted back when they were relevant and new.

In turn, Lurch77 was kind enough to provide a transcript of the highlights, so I’d recommend heading over to the Multiverse to get some insight into all the licensed properties, from Marvel to Tarot.

There was an odd note regarding the packaging: it seems that the back of these feature the Toys R Us exclusive vehicles, instead of images of the actual product in the package.

The Minimate vehicles are expected to hit in late August or early September.
The Universal Monsters sets should be hitting in late September.
Marvel series 37 should hit in early November.
Halo should be hitting in late November.

No word on the Back to the Future box set as of yet.

The pairings are:

While only the Namor and Sue Storm sets are labeled exclusive, so far, none of these figures have appeared anywhere else, so Toys R Us will be your best bet on obtaining these. And good news for Canadians, its rumored that these will be available in Canada’s Toys R Us stores as well.

On a regular basis, the gang over at Art Asylum compile questions from their fans and present them to DSTChuck in a segment they call Ask DST.

In the 99th installment, the topic of conversation is, of course, Minimates. Below are the highlights:

• DST use a list of themes and past releases to help guide the development of each series of Minimates, though the line-up tends to take a life of its own.
• No plans for any new movie sets for the remainder of the year (minus the Back to the Future set).
• No plans to release larger Minimates.
• No plans for Tintin.
• Always room to go back and update old figures.
• DST is still uncertain about Marvel series 37 Thing.
• No plans for Predators, though there was some discussion and even some designs tossed around.
• Its tough picking the line-up for sets, since everyone has a favorite. There was some debate about Principal Strickland getting a slot in the new BttF set.
• If the BttF set sells well, there may be more in 2011.
• No plans for Wanted, movie or comic.
• There’s about an 8 month turn around from an idea for a Minimate and that figure sitting on store shelves.

The rumored line-up is Sunspot, Karma, Cannonball, and Wolfsbane.
