Those who were with Minimates from the start will remember Digger, a former head honcho of Art Asylum. Well he’s been working on a pilot for a web series called Agent 88, the story of a sweet old lady highly skilled British assassin living the quiet life in Los Angeles. Now he’s looking for help to produce it. So, he’s turned to recently popular Kickstarter to help generate funds.
How does this all tie into Minimates? Simple. Contributing to the project can net you rewards, including an autographed Agent 88 promotional Minimate, previously handed out at SDCC, as well as 10 Minimates of the primary cast of the show. Its unclear if this will go on to become an actual line of Minimates, or if these will go down in history as some of the hardest exclusives to obtain.

Does anybody know which retailer picked up the A88 NINJAS?
Perhaps Luke’s Toy Store? He has a history with Minimate Ninjas.
No one has picked up the line – it’s a Kickstarter exclusive. Because of Digger’s history with AA (starting the company and creating Minimates) he has the ability to pitch Chuck on projects – they spoke briefly about this in the recorded interview on Action Figure Insider IIRC…
Anyway, what I think is important to point out, is that Kickstarter is an ‘all or nothing’ fundraising campaign. If the 88K isn’t reached these Minimates won’t get made.
Thanks for the reply, but I was referring to one the RETAILER EXCLUSIVE rewards.
They offer several of these rewards (most are logo Minimates of different colors) and one of them includes ninjas.
So there is somebody out there with 500 A88 NINJA Minimates and I hope to buy one of them for a reasonable price.
If I had an online store I would definitely pick up one of these RETAILER EXCLUSIVE rewards.
Apparently Luke has commited to carrying the 2 Agent 88 blanks AND the Ninjas!
And just so everyone’s clear – if the funding goal isn’t reached on Kickstarter, Luke won’t get these Minimates to sell. So if you’re interested in adding some ninjas to the ol’ Minimates collection you’ll have to pledge some support to the project and grab the Minimates from Luke’s Toy Store after.
