Loading ...Every year at SDCC, DST hosts a panel regarding all things Minimates. It’s generally a good time to show pictures of upcoming product and answer questions from the fans. Multiverse member Mrjasontodd has a report from the panel this year. Mostly, the upcoming stuff we’ve seen before was covered, with some clarification and unveilings in the mix. I recommend checking out the discussion over at the Multiverse for a more comprehensive report, but below are a few highlights:
- Battle Beasts will have LCS and TRU releases, with army builders in the mix.
- Walking Dead will have LCS and TRU releases. Micchione and her pet walkers will see a release.
- Expendables will have LCS and TRU releases, with characters from the second movie arriving in the second assortment.
- Marvel series 48 is Fantastic Four themed, with Alicia Masters as the variant figure. A corresponding set is expected at TRU.
- Marvel series 50 will feature Cyborg Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, Songbird, Onslaught, Baron Zemo, Nova Centurion, and WWII Zemo as the variant.
- More Star Trek on the horizon for LCS, with TRU possible down the line. The Enterprise ship will come with Kirk. Looks like it will be more of the original show.
- Thundercats will continue on in box set form at NYCC.

Alicia Masters in wave 48, that’s even better than getting another Thing! Let’s hope we’ll get some more FF foes in the corresponding TRU wave. Annihilus, Wizard, Diablo, Trapster, Psychoman, etc…
I’m happy with the selection for wave 50, especially now that we’ll get both Zemo’s and can complete the Thunderbolts!

I’m really excited for the Zemo figures. Bummed that we aren’t getting Mandroids but I’m sure we’ll see them at some point.
Having seen the Moloids, I can’t help but think the Moleman’s army will be a TRU exclusive similar to the Atlantean and Namor TRU pack.

I’m pretty bummed about not getting Banshee, Mojo or Cap Wolf, but at least we arn’t getting Team X Wolverine.
No Banshee or Falcon? Super disappointing. And I know that Onslaught was a big deal back in the 90s, but, having reread the trades recently, I want to do everything I can to forget him completely. It was such a terrible, terrible story arc.
Songbird and Zemos are great news, though. Nova Corps… eh. Cool enough, I guess, but I have extra Novas already that I’ve turned into Generic Nova Corps members. My main hope is that a lot of the support characters, villains, and cannon fodder still see light in future waves/packs. There are way too many good ones in there that need to be made.
No Banshee or Falcon is a joke. Onslaught? That’s just silly. Stupid really.

You seem to think Onslaught is the reason there’s no Banshee or Falcon, but Songbird is, someone who no one is complaining about. Also, stupid?? I loved the arc and it’ll look awesome I. Minimate form.
If anything, the Nova Corps are annoying, they’re an easy custom.
Ooookay… I don’t think that Onslaught is the reason there’s no Banshee or Falcon, although, since they only did one of the support characters, and two of the villains, they could have just as easily not put in Onslaught and put in Banshee instead.
Anyway, I’m glad for you. I’m happy for anyone who likes Onslaught, but he just doesn’t do it for me. Makes it easy for me, anyway, since I won’t need to by every set from that wave.
Sorry… Kinda mad about no Banshee/Falcon either, but I think the Zemo variation was inevidable.
Now that there’s the iron man inside an iron man I’m hoping a Franklin Richards can fit inside Onslaught…
What is the “more Star Trek” for comic stores? Just the Enterprise vehicle or did we get any word on a 25th Anniv TNG set?
All we know is more Star Trek. Focus is on the original series, so TNG continues to get shunned in Minimate form.

Also, no Winter Soldier, no Falcon, I guess I’ll take Zemo and Songbird and be glad I have my Thunderbolts.
Add my voice to those disappointed by the poll results, but not really surprised. Oh well, at least we got Zemo. Maybe Black Knight, Falcon and Winter Soldier will see a release down the line.
Regarding the Star Trek expansion, I would LOVE IT if DST released a Klingon D-7 with a Klingon minimate in the command chair like the Enterprise and Kirk. That would be nuts.
If the news hitting the web regarding the second Captain America movie is true, I’d say there’s a decent chance we’ll see Winter Soldier and Falcon in the future.
We never said more Trek was happening, just that we’re waiting to see how the ship does before we make any plans. And Onslaught and Songbird would have been made no matter what, because they won their categories outright. Banshee and Winter Soldier didn’t even come in second in their category, so they never would have made the cut.

Im sort of split on wave 50. The Zemos, Onslaught and Ghost Rider I like. Don’t Mind About Nova’s, But I REALLY WANTED BANSHEE. Somehow he’s always been my favourie X-man
