SDCC ’12: AFX Marvel exclusive revealed Finally! Action Figure Xpress have unveiled their first exclusive box set for San Diego, based on Alpha Flight. The set will contain Guardian, Marrina, Puck, and North Star and will include some extra flight stands for Guardian and Northstar, an alternate head for Guardian, an alternate hairpiece for Northstar, a display stand and alternate hand for Puck, and Marrina will also be in the box somewhere. 14 comments to SDCC ’12: AFX Marvel exclusive revealedLeave a Reply |

There might be another box, since it says box set 1.
Hopefully we’ll get Aurora. It’s kinda funny having Northstar and no Aurora. Otherwise, nice set! Are they going to use Hobbit parts for Puck?

These look good. I also hope Puck’s on a 1.5 inch body, but I bet he just has slipped feet. He’s usually hunched over, so I don’t have a huge problem with that. I bet the second set is Vindicator, box, Sasquach, and Aurora.
With Northstar, we now need a Kyle. I can see the packaging now… Wolverine and… Kyle. The fans go wild. Kidding aside, I really like this set, but with all the great mates coming out soon, I feel like I’ll have to decide which ones to get, probably leaving a few behind.
Unrelated, but isn’t there a 2.5 inch restriction on minimates. How could they do the iron man inside an iron man?

Regarding Iron Man:
The actual Minimate is the restricted size, Tony can’t help it if the added parts make him so big.
Remember Stiltman? Same concept.
I say the second set is: Shaman, Aurora, Sasquatch and Snowbird.
Vindicator and Box will be a TRU 2 pack and if they feel even more generous they’ll also throw in a Talisman & Weapon Omega two pack.

We only use 2-inch Minimates as base bodies. Added accessories can make them bigger or smaller, but we do not use the 1.5″ bodies or 3″ bodies any more.
YESSSSS!!!! SO excited.
Ok now that I am over the initial thoughts of Praise you Oprah. Here is my thinking:
1. DANG that is a lot of accessories
2. Will Puck be smaller like Hope?
3. Box set 2 HAS to have Aurora, Sasquatch, Shaman, and Snowbird.
4. Sas is actually probably popular enough that he can be in the TRU assortment so a villain like the Master wouldn’t be so bad.
5. This is what they did for the TBolts and I loved it but miss my Songbird. Maybe the Minimates have hate toward the birds but love Angels?
6. Alpha Flight is usually a sign that a line is over. I pray to Oprah that is not the case.
Now that is a cool set. I’m very excited.
