Art Asylum has the latest Q&A session with DSTChuck, covering Halo, a whole lot of Marvel, and more. Below are the highlights:
- DST no longer has the Halo license, so nothing planned after series 5. Things could always change in the future.
- Always the chance to go back and revisit old Minimates with updates.
- DST doesn’t have the rights to Marvel’s old movies, but if Marvel were willing to license them out, its always a possibility to revisit ones that were missed.
- DST looked into Mass Effect, but nothing ever came of it.
- More Battle Beasts on the way.
- DST is weighing their options regarding selling display stands for Minimates.
- Squirrel Girl has never been discussed.
- Stan Lee is not included in any Marvel rights.
- No plans for more Bruce Lee either.
- Chance of seeing the “Phoenix Five” from AvX, but no plans for a 5-pack of characters.
- No plans for Celestials.
- DC seems to be a closed door, but there’s always the chance for other comic properties in Minimate form.
- Fan poll rejects can always see production, if their inclusion makes sense.
- DST isn’t really hiring, but aren’t opposed to looking at portfolios.
- Marvel games aren’t included in Marvel movie rights. Its a separate license.
- If new Daredevil or Fantastic Four movies get off the ground, its always possible that they’ll be licensed.
- Marvel vs Capcom is done, but there’s still more characters out there that DST might want to take a crack at. You never know.
“Marvel vs Capcom is done” — does that mean wave 2 & 3 are cancelled?!?!?!
Wave 2 has been released already.
Wave 3 should have been released last week?
What they meant is that they won’t release a fourth wave and beyond.
Actually wave 3 of Marvel Vs Capcom should be getting released today.
I wish I had dark knight minimates from Christopher’s movie…
The new movie
Series 2 has been out for months, and is on Toysrus.com with no pictures and some incorrect names.
Series 3 hits July 11 or so.
