Control Art: AvX TRU Box SetThose disappointed to find that you can’t really see who you’re voting for on the TRU poll (and those frustrated that they clicked on a picture thinking they’d get a larger version, only to discover they just voted for someone) will be excited to know that Art Asylum has control art up of the six possible choices for the TRU Avengers vs X-Men box set. I might change my vote to Iron Man if they make him big enough to actually fit another Iron Man Minimate inside. That’s sweet.
It’s not so much changing your vote as it seems to be adding to the poll, so if you want Iron Man to overrule your other vote you would have to vote for him twice.
I also like this Iron Man better after seeing the control art, but I’m still not sold on the overall design.
After seeing the Hex bolts I really hope Wanda sees a release one way or the other. She and Protector are still my favorites in this poll.
I really wouldn’t mind if it was 2 X-men and 2 Avengers, being Emma and Scott and Scarlet WItch and Protecter or Iron Man.
I like all of these but I wish there were more Avengers. We are already getting a Cyclops, Emma & Colossus in the other AVX set.
Was wanting protector and wanda, but now I want IM for the same reason I want mojo, it would be brilliant to see him made, but than you get into the sallak issue of what’s really a mate
Is the Sallak issue really an issue? I mean if all Minimates had the same body and just different tampos I don’t think they would have lasted as long as they do.
Yes, we have got an Emma, Cyclops, and Coloussus, but they were in normal form. These are the Phoenix Five, and the five are the main guys in AvX.
Does that mean we’ll get two more of the Phoenix Five in a TRU 2 pack?
I, for one, love the Salaak Minimate.
Love is such a strong word…
Salaak is okay in my book.
Don’t get me wrong, I love sallak, its just that he barely looked like a mate, same for grodd and clayface
I wouldn’t mistake Salaak, Grodd or Clayface for any other mini figure as you can still see a lot of the basic Minimate body on these figures.
The same is true for Muffit, the Terror Dogs, etc.
I don’t mean to be annoying, but I do wonder is there really a “What is a Minimate” issue?
Do any collectors actually skip certain figures because they have (too many) unique and sculpted parts?
The more sculpted parts the better in my world! Anything that makes them look even less like Lego figures. I hate when people see them & ask “are those Legos?”
I haven’t had the Lego question yet, perhaps when I start displaying some of the C3 stuff.
